Sydney has been working as a Musical Theatre instructor and choreographer for eight years. She designed and created a Musical Theatre program from the ground up through Laszlo Tamasik Dance Academy, with 20 students in her first year. By the program’s fifth year it had grown to 160 students. Sydney also worked at Brooks Secondary School as their theatre program’s choreographer from 2018-2022.
Sydney is IDTS certified and has trained with NYFA’s Conservatory of Musical Theatre. NYFA’s program gave her the opportunity to further her training by learning from and working with Broadway professionals.

Indy will be teaching Level 2 and 3 Performance Skills again this season, with Anna Carlson. Indy has taken other dance such as contemporary, tap, and jazz, but has always found musical theatre to be her favourite. She knew she wanted to be a dance teacher when she started taking musical theatre classes with miss Sydney in 2015, and started assisting with the younger classes a few years later.
Indy has been a part of four community musicals, including Beauty & The Beast with Beanstalk this past year. She loves the art of musical theatre and how it creates a space to express oneself and be part of a supportive community.
This is Indy’s 6th year as a dance teacher - she is always excited to share her passion for the performing arts with the kids and help build that space for them on the stage.

Anna Carlson officially started taking classes when she was eight years old, but was dancing for fun long before that. Anna gravitated toward the genres of contemporary and musical theatre, which continued her growth as a dancer and propelled her love of the art. In 2019 she began to assistant-teach musical theatre classes at Laszlo Tamasik Dance Academy (LTDA) and quickly developed a passion for sharing her love of dance and theatre with aspiring younger dancers. After three years of assisting, Anna furthered her journey as a dance instructor by co-teaching with Indy Morwood through the 2022-2023 LTDA season, and the 2023-2024 Beanstalk Theatre Company Performance Skills program. She is so excited to inspire others as much as her previous teachers have inspired her, and share with her students the incredible feeling performance provides. Anna is honoured to have the opportunity to continue teaching what she loves, and create lovely memories with kids!

Associate Choreographer / Assistant
Lydia has been performing on stage since she was little; first appearing in Shrek Jr. (Ensemble) at age 5, The Wizard of Oz Jr. (Ensemble) when she was 7, and The Lion King Jr. (Ensemble) when she was 9. Lydia was a competitive dancer at the Laszlo Tamasik Dance Academy for four years. She has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical and Hip Hop, but Musical Theatre always had a special place in her heart. This is Lydia’s second year with Beanstalk Theatre Company. You may recognize her from last year’s production of Beauty & the Beast where she played The Enchantress and was a featured dancer in the ensemble. “My favourite part of being an artist is creating experiences for people in the audience; you don’t have to be part of the art world to appreciate a good show”. Lydia is excited to be assisting Sydney with the Level 5 Performance Skills class and co-choreographing the year-end showcase opening/closing numbers.

Mira has always loved musical theatre. In kindergarten she played a skunk in Robin Hood with the Missoula Children’s Theatre and has been hooked ever since. She has performed in several school productions, sung in choir at the PR Music Academy, and trained at the Laszlo Tamasik Dance Academy for three years in various styles including jazz, acro, and musical theatre.
This is Mira’s third year with Beanstalk Theatre Company. You may recognize her from past Beanstalk productions such as Mary Poppins (Jane Banks) and Beauty & The Beast (Lumiere). Last year Mira joined Performance Skills and loved it so much. “I am passionate about theatre because it is challenging to learn a script, songs and choreography but so rewarding to see people enjoy our hard work”.
This year Mira is looking forward to assisting Sydney with Preschool Dance classes. She is excited to share her love of theatre with younger kids and begin learning how to teach the things she loves.

This is Ella’s second season in Performance Skills and first season working as an assistant. Neave's journey into dance and musical theatre began at the age of three, igniting a deep passion for dancing, movement, singing, and acting within her. She refined her movement and dance skills through formal training at both Sheridan Dance Academy and Lazlo Tamasik Dance Academy (LTDA). It was at LTDA where her affinity for musical theatre blossomed, becoming her main focus. In 2022/23, Neave joined the Performance Skills class at Beanstalk Theatre Company, where she joyfully performed her first solo in the May year-end showcase. Neave looks forward to another year at Beanstalk, feeling grateful for the chance to both assist and learn from Anna and Indy!
